Delete your Connust account

You can delete your Connust account and the personal information attached to it. This page explains how to ask, what is removed, what is kept and why, and how long it takes.

How to ask

In the app

Open Connust and go to Account → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. This is the fastest route and it works straight away.

By email, if you have already uninstalled

Write to [email protected] from the email address on the account, with the subject Delete my account. We reply to confirm before anything is scheduled, so nobody can have your account deleted by sending an email in your name.

If you signed up with a phone number and no email, include the number. We will contact you to confirm it is yours before going ahead.

What happens, and when

Deletion is not immediate, on purpose. For 30 days after you ask, your account is scheduled but nothing is destroyed. You are signed out everywhere and your listings stop appearing, but every piece of your data is still intact and recoverable.

That window exists because a deletion request is not always the account holder's. If somebody gets into your account and deletes it, you have a month to undo it.

Changed your mind?

Sign in again within the 30 days and choose Cancel deletion. Nothing needs restoring, because nothing was removed — your listings, chats and reviews come back exactly as they were.

If you cannot sign in, write to [email protected] and we will cancel it for you after confirming who you are.

After 30 days the deletion runs and cannot be undone.

What is deleted

  • Your name, email address, phone number and profile photo
  • Your password and any linked Google sign-in
  • Your bio, city and area
  • Your identity documents, including the National ID photo and selfie, and the CNIC number recorded when you were verified
  • Your notifications and your push notification token
  • Your listings are taken down

What is kept, and why

We are being specific here rather than saying "everything is deleted", because that would not be true.

What Why How long
Messages you sent Every conversation has two people in it. Deleting your messages would delete half of somebody else's record of a deal they were part of. Your name is replaced with "Deleted user". Kept
Reviews you wrote and received A review you left is part of that seller's rating, and other buyers rely on it. Shown as written by "Deleted user". Kept
Bids you placed They form part of auctions other people took part in. Kept
A one-way code made from your CNIC and phone number Not the number itself, and it cannot be turned back into one. It exists so somebody removed for fraud cannot delete their account and immediately sign up again with the same card or SIM. 2 years, then deleted
Records we are required to keep Where the law or an active investigation requires it. If your account is subject to one, we will tell you when you ask. As required

Nothing kept is sold, and nothing is shared with other companies for advertising.

Deleting your data without deleting your account

You do not have to close your account to remove your identity documents. In the app, go to Account → Verification → Delete my documents. Your National ID photo and selfie are erased and your verified badge is removed, since the badge rests on documents that would no longer exist. The rest of your account carries on as normal.
